Although Providence Health Group officially began in 2013, the foundation of its leaders was formed decades earlier. Doug Cox, our Founder and CEO, had a vision to bring together a team of dedicated and talented professionals who had the unity of purpose to impact and change senior care for the positive. Together that team of leaders is building a company that is focused on continuously transforming and evolving senior health care; so that today is better than yesterday and tomorrow will be better than today. They will never be content and will never accept that things are good enough; they will always strive to use creativity and innovation to constantly find new ways to improve.
In 2015, PHG embarked on the journey to realize their vision of a company that would be truly transformative. In January of 2015 their first two facilities, Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kentucky and The Cottages of Clayton in Ohio, were the beginning seeds of what would be the foundation of PHG. This was followed by Madison Park Health Care in West Virginia and Angels for the Elderly in Alabama and then Harbor Healthcare of Ironton, also in Ohio. Today, Providence Health Group manages and consults with five facilities across four states in the areas of Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care.
