Karl Eck

Karl Eck, Director of Operations of Providence Health Group, LLC, began his long-term care career in 2009.  Karl shifted professions from the legal field to healthcare in order to focus on devoting his time to assisting the geriatric population.  Karl was influenced by his sister, an anesthesiologist, to enter the healthcare field while his grandparents were residing in a long-term care facility in 2008.

Karl obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with minors in political science and psychology from Youngstown State University in 1999.  Upon graduation, he attended law school at Washington University in St. Louis and graduated in 2002 with a juris doctorate degree.  Karl created Karl V. Eck, LLC and employed nearly a dozen attorneys and paralegals to focus on document preparation.  His emphasis focused on criminal, domestic, corporate, and bankruptcy law.

In 2009, Karl enrolled in the Core of Knowledge course at The Ohio State University and began his internship at a long-term care facility in Youngstown, Ohio.  Karl balanced working full time with participating in an internship full time.  Once licensed in the state of Ohio, he quickly became licensed in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Karl began his long-term care career with Signature Healthcare, LLC and was the assistant administrator at a facility in Pikeville, Kentucky.  In August of 2011, he was promoted to be the administrator at The Bridge at Highland in Portland, Tennessee.  At the time of his transfer, the facility was a one-star CMS-rated home and was quoted in the Nashville Tennessean as one of the worst long-term care facilities in the greater Nashville market.  Under Karl’s direction, the facility became a five-star CMS rated home in only two years and was listed by U.S. News and World Reports as one of the best nursing homes in America in 2014.  Karl transformed the facility from over a half of a million-dollar net annual loss to nearly a three-quarter million-dollar net annual gain.

In September of 2015, Karl assumed responsibility as Administrator at Lebanon Health & Rehabilitation Center with Sava Senior Care, LLC.  While at Lebanon, Karl mastered the fast-paced skilled market and developed great expertise with CMS’ bundled payment system.

Karl’s education and background enables him to be a highly motivated and detail oriented leader.  He has a passion for his profession and strives to make the people around him better. He enjoys traveling, walking, and reading.
